Readers of magazine apps treat the digital publication the same way as a printed magazine, according to new research.
Magazine apps have a 64 per cent return rate and readers come back to their magazine apps 3.7 times on average, a study by Yudu Media found.
Yudu likened the behaviour to readers picking up a print magazine on their coffee table several times in order to read through all the content.
The study also found that 40 per cent of people who download reader apps opt-in to share their contact details with publishers.
