Billboards have been around for yonks, But what about interactive billboards? The kind that a passerby can actually interact and engage with, not just see. You know what I’m talking about…

Yeah! Like that! We need more of these. Okay maybe not more drink dispensable billboards but more interactive billboards. Saw this Carlsberg billboard, located on London’s Brick Lane, make the internet rounds and it’s genius. I’m actually surprised Guinness didn’t of think of this first! They’re usually on the ball when it comes to creative advertising. Check out Carlsberg’s fun guerrilla advertising video here.

Doing simple print-only billboard ads are so typical. Why not have more interactive billboard ads in which you can actually engage with? Physical engagement with adverts adds a whole new dimension to consumer experience. From both the marketer’s & consumer’s point of view. They can vary, from being fun and quirky, to thought-provoking to even down right bat-crazy. Adverts are supposed to push the envelope and not be afraid to think outside the box. Literally. Billboards provide an opportunity to advertise something larger than life! So I decided to have a look at what creative and wacky interactive billboards are out there that really engage people.
